Looks like I won’t be getting that grilled cheese sandwich

What would you think if I told you that for first grade, you get to have your very own room? Just for you, with all your stuff and your books on a shelf and the bed right where you want it?

We’ll get some new art for your walls and you can pick out a new lamp and a trash can. Yes, it can be green. Here, we’ll make a sign for your door that’s green on one side and red on the other and teach Rosie when it’s ok to come in and when she has to wait and come back later. Yes, you get to decide that.

And Rosie, what about you, big girl! This room gets to be all for Rosie! You get to sleep where Noah’s bed was! You’ll have so much space now, space for dancing and for spinning.

We’ll put your special dresser here. Yes, the one you helped Mama paint. And your kitchen can go in this room now. Yes, you can cook me some lunch right over there in that corner. I’ll have a grilled cheese sandwich.

Well look at that, we did it! You’re all set up in your new rooms! That sure was a lot of moving around, right guys? Guys?

… Guys?

What great photos! And, as it should be. :) Samuel and Clara have been “camping out” in each others rooms quite a bit this summer, too. There is no way on God’s green earth that I am going to discourage it, either. It won’t be long until they are driving each other crazy and longing for space. For now, I say let them scheme and dream together. (Oh, but nice jobs on the rooms, Mom!!! Very inspiring.)

Thanks! They’re definitely not done yet–but I like them so far. (And so do they, which is more important.)(I guess.)

Oh good gosh, I hope my (future, unborn) children are even half this adorable. Good job making awesome kids, Momma!

Luke’s bear has a starring role here. Cool.

Very cool! I really love how the color that was picked for the study looks so good with all of the bright fun colors in Noah’s room now!
