Here, sit down and take a break from all that labor
This weekend was rife with beautiful weather and family and park outings and live music and all kinds of great things that would usually have me feeling quite content and groovy about the state of the world, but on Saturday morning something particularly heartbreaking and rather unfair happened to two of my closest friends, and so they are what is on my mind today instead. So in place of a regular written post, I am going to point you in the direction of my Flickr photos, which I spent some extra time updating last night with titles and captions and clever notes hidden inside so that looking through them would be more entertaining than just Picture With Title, Picture With Title, Picture With Title, etc. It’s almost like a whole blog entry unto itself! For serious! Included are the photos of my color-coded bookshelves, a.k.a. Every Librarians Nightmare. The only shelves I didn’t photograph out of the set were the black ones, because, well, they were boring. But rest assured, there are books with black spines in our house. We are not some sort of book-color bigots. Also, the number of times that L (or anyone) has asked for a book from that shelf since I organized them thusly = one. And it was my sister, and I knew exactly where it was without even looking, because I knew it was a brown book. Library of Congress, TAKE NOTE.
I hope you all had good weekends. Enjoy your Labor Day.
