Building his character, one afternoon at a time
Some parents have educational toys and fingerpaints and flashcards and paper mache dinosaur projects for their kids to do to help enrich their minds and creativity.
We believe in the good old fashioned toys of yore – cardboard boxes.
Plus I am just plain out of ideas. And maybe also lazy. And also pretty sucky at arts and crafts.
I’m sure I’ll get over that in time for kid number two.

My favorite picture from my youth is of me at about 2 and my older sister at 5. We have huge shit-eating grins on our faces and are pleased as punch with ourselves and our toys: a toilet brush and a sawed off 2×4
But boxes are the best! And when they’re all worn out, into the recycling bin. No mess. No waste. And lots of investment in imagination.
Cute pictures, by the way. He’s really growing up.
